David Lewis, Director of Instruction

David Lewis A native of Auckland, New Zealand, David Lewis was one of Asia and Oceania’s top junior tennis players winning the Australian Open Junior Doubles Title at 17 and soon after turning pro in 1983. He reached a career high of #152 in singles and #133 in doubles in the ATP world rankings. David has competed against some of the world’s greatest players, including Jimmy Connors and Stefan Edberg. As Director of Instruction, David will be responsible for daily training and developing plans for each individual student to reach their full potential, collegiate or professional. For the past 20 years, he has coached top juniors and professionals in Germany and Switzerland. In recent years he also coached New Zealand’s top-ranked female player, Marina Erakovic, ranked as high as #49 on the WTA world rankings and reached the doubles semi-finals at Wimbledon this year. In 2007 and 2008, David served as the Federation Cup Captain for New Zealand.

Christian Coley, Tennis Coach

Christian Coley A native of Glastonbury, Connecticut, Christian was one of New England’s top tennis players, finishing top-ten in every age group. He attended Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York where he was the No. 1 singles player for three years and two years as co-captain. During his career at Marist, they won the MAAC conference and qualified for the NCAA Division 1 Championships. Christian finished his collegiate career ranked in the top 20 of the ITA Northeast Region. Christian was recently selected by the USTA New England to be hitting partner for the Pilot Pen Tournament in New Haven, CT. He has also been a long-time practice partner for Ivan Lendl as well as Jimmy Arias, a former world No. 5 ranked player. In addition, Christian recently served as assistant coach for Glastonbury High School in Connecticut, finishing third in the state. He is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association.
